Im a big dummy!!!

If the season wasnt over for me....it is now!!!

capsized a kayak in the icey Potomac River this morning while chasing ducks....I would show you pics but my camera was given a really nice bath while I was swimming after my oar....I also lost a goose decoy and my favorite headlamp....

This entry has taken me 45 minutes to write since i broke my left hand and am now typing with 1 hand

Doesnt look like I will be shooting in my upcoming archery tourneys.....I am a living disaster (but thank God im still living and not an ice pop as some have been made by that river)

Andy got that big sucker!!!

The ole boy just hung around far too much and thats not a good thing with a persistant hunter like Andy...

here is Andys story...pics to follow

Thanks everyone. Most of you guys know I hunt Poolseville allot, I have several properties, one Ive never even hunted yet. Ive been having a tough season after my first kill in Sept on video. I actually had a bigger buck than this guy at 60 yards, typical 12 thats much bigger, we were guessing 170-180. I saw him 3 times in one day and that was it, never saw him again. I hunted for him hard for a long time with no luck. I passed on some realy nice bucks in the process and messed up on a few while self videoing with no shots taken. Ive been checking my properties as often as I could since Christmas where I saw this guy coming in every day, sometimes at 2PM, sometimes right at dusk. I waited for a good wind and sure enough myself and Phil saw him in the stand and got good video footage of him at about 3PM, but he was following some Does 100 yards out. Next night, I had Troy on stand filming me, but the buck didnt come in during daylight, we did see about 30 deer and had several nice bucks come in and got to see a good buck battle, UFC style. I checked cameras and he dissapeared for a few days so I didnt hunt but I was checking the cameras every day. Once he showed back up I decided to go out and try and film myself since no one was available yesterday afternoon. Well, I saw 40+ deer, and no shooters until right at dusk where I saw him coming up a creek bottom and right into my shooting lane. I turned the camera on, hit record, grabbed my bow with lots of deer all around me, turned my sight pin lights on. I knew he was going to be at 18 yards when I made the shot if he continued his path, so it was a chip shot provided nothing went wrong. I made the shot, saw him kick and run and I knew he was hit good. I saw the Firenock sticking out and watched it go about 40 yards and then started spinning around. I knew the arrow hit mid body behind front shoulder and buried in opposite shoulder, but, it was getting dark, and things happen fast especially when a big boy like this comes in. I thought the arrow had broken off and thats what I was seeing. I knew he was big, so I took no chances and decided to just get down and go back in the AM. Turned out where I saw the Firenock is where hit bit the dust. We saw blood sprayed out everywhere starting from point of impact, thats a good sight to see after a long wrestless night. I'll post a few pics later. Thanks Phil for helping me look for him although that was an easy one, and for helping me get him loaded up.
