Ok what can I say.....I love New York!!!
Always have a great time there...Never a dull moment!!!
I truly enjoy being able to eat my way around the city and the fact that Angie and I are hardcore people watchers...This place has it all!!! Never know what you are going to run into up there....
We had a double pronged reason to be in the city...Angie had a vision expo to attend for work so the production house worked around that to meet up with us on the same trip...
The vision expo was actually pretty fun...once I found the free alcohol...hehehe...I was kinda diggin it. We saw some celeb type folks (Angie knew who they were) and there was a fashion show going on...
I dont even wear glasses...
My favorite part of the trip was the ridiculous food I was able to grub on....
To start out...We stayed right in Times Square...
Pretty central to get everything...Right off the main drag there is a pretty old place called Juniors...Ate there 3 times because it was close and really good...in the four days we had a breakfast, a dinner, and then the best and what they are known for....Cheesecake....Pretty easy to taste why they are known for it...Angie had a giant piece of Red Velvet Cake (Her Favorite) too big...she had to take some to go...
And then of course I had to get the best Pizza in the world...Lombardis...It did not disappoint!!!
We went to Little Italy and had a great meal at a little hole in the wall...We were actually walking to Chinatown and got stopped by this guys offering of "Free wine for everyone"........We turned around...
The guy was too funny...we sat outside and listened to him pouring it on to passers bye...he used us a few times asking how was the food?? He sang Sinatra and Elvis...We chatted with a couple from California we met that stopped for the wine as well....hehehe
At the end of the fantastic meal (they made me a dish I wanted that was not on the menu and it was great) They did not charge us for all the Sangria I had or the diet Cokes that Angie had....
I would have to say though, that my favorite meal was on the Lower East side at a Deli that has been there since 1888...Katz Deli....WOW!!! It is known to have the best Pastrami anywhere so I had to try...
It was a true soup nazi type experience that I found hilarious but my Wife did not find amusing....The place is run cafeteria style...You take a ticket...go to one of the counters and order....pretty simple...not to Angie....hehehe
The Pastrami was absolutely the best I have ever tasted...
I really did not want to eat this bite and make it all be over.........
Central Park was fun...
Brooklyn Bridge...
Ground Zero World Trade rebuild....Very emotional walking around there...I have not been back to this spot since a few years before 9/11 Been to NYC a bunch but just didnt want to go here...It has a very chilling quiet to it....
Chinatown...Honestly feels like what I imagine Hong Kong to feel like....crowded as hell...even the traffic....the trikes and bikes....people shopping fish on the street...the live frogs in the trash can were funny....
Today Show...
My Wife is a stalker....hehehe
Times Square
B&H Photo.......Truly a photo/video buff paradise...there were 50 customer service reps in one line taking numbers for help.....not one spot was available at any given time....I cannot imagine how much money was changing hands while I was there...They had an overhead conveyor system to move product around so it ended up at the register for you.....unreal
Dirtballs.........I mean the Occupy Wall Street Protesters that screwed up my cab ride....Now they owe me money....
